My project for Game Off 2022 (theme: cliché). This is my 4th game jam game, I started learning Unity in early 2022. I tried to incorporate a lot of new things in this project which I had been wanting to learn how to do. Things such as a simple building system so a player can place objects into the game, tooltips when mousing over buttons, and some basic data persistance between levels.

About the game:

The game is a simple tower defense style game where the object to defend is a movable ball.

  • Move the ball towards the goal and avoid the enemies, or place towers to destroy them.
  • The enemies will not attack the player, only the ball.
  • There are 3 placeable tower types: a ballista and cannon to damage enemies, and a tower/cannon which heals the ball by firing pellets at it.
  • There is an in game menu where you can reset a level if anything goes wrong, and mute all audio.

Controls:

  • WASD moves the player character, run the character into the ball to push it.
  • Hold Left Shift while moving to move faster.
  • Use the mouse to interact with the buttons across the bottom ui bar.
  • Left click to place buildings, right click to deselect if you change your mind.
